Coming to Your Church this Summer…

$4—”Gallon-of Gas” Sundays

August—October, 2008

Several years ago BES started a fundraiser in local churches called "$2.00 Sunday." The concept came from the familiar refrain, "Brother, can you spare a dime?"  Several churches in the area still continue this fundaising tradition, though most do not.   BES in reviving this manner of helping our homeless brothers and sisters with the new $4-Gallon of Gas Sunday." The rising cost of fuel is impacting everthing and impacts our services to keep our local homeless of the streets.  The idea behind this fundraiser is that we all--even our youth--can give the cost of one gallon of gas, $4, and keep BES from running on empty.  Ask your pastor for more details.

2009 Meal Appeal

It is that time of year when we begin to plan for next year's meal calendar for the Guests and Good Neighbors of the Shelter!  Thand you churches, businesses and individuals for providing meals for the Shelter in 2009.  We hope that you will continue to provide meals again for us in the coming year.  September will kick-off our annual Meal Appeal.  Information and sign-up schedules are forth-coming.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... in July!
